Turn left for Les Arcs, Turn right for La Plagne
Sat right in the middle of the new Paradiski Area which now links Les Arcs and La Plagne, Montchavin is a hidden gem which has all that makes skiing in France fantastic without any concrete monstrosities or large groups in sight.
The traditional style of the village with its original stone chalets and the tasteful more contemporary ones gives the village a 'Swiss' feel. Strict building regulations have ensured that Montchavin retains its charm whilst having been tastefully developed since 1972. It is a working farming village with a continually changing landscape - we have sheep and goats in our garden twice a year!
The resort has historically concentrated on offering high quality childrens' activity programmes and childcare and now has a faithful band of regulars both in summer and winter, who return for its exceptional and very good value childcare and skiing. Nestled in the middle of 425 kms of skiing with 236 pistes ( 24 black, 61 red, 134 blue, 10 green) - it is skiing heaven. With 5 snowparks and 153 km of cross country skiing it appeals to all snow lovers but has so much to offer non skiers too.
A full Season's Programme is available and each week there is a detailed schedule of activities for skiers and non-skiers alike.
